I'm always excited to see God moving. And when he places people in the body it's always a masterpiece. Men have messed up multiple times trying to place others in the body of Christ. But when God does it, it is perfect. Tonya Miller has recently stepped up as our director of community outreach. I have witnessed her heart for the hurting many times. This is one of her writings that demonstrate our heart as a congregation.

"After a wonderful discussion with Pastor Jason one night, I was pondering what it meant to be a Christian and this is the analogy that popped into my head. I was thinking about EMTs. I know, I know, makes no sense, right? But just bear with me for a moment.
You see, the job of an EMT is to go to the broken and the hurt and do everything in their power to stabilize the injured and get them to a doctor. They don't hesitate before stopping bleeding to lecture about how the injury was obviously the fault of the patient. They don't ask the injured to fix their brokeness in their own power before they can be transported to a physician. And, perhaps most importantly, they don't sit in their ambulance and wonder why the hurt aren't coming to them. There is a lot of pressure on the EMT. They face situations that aren't always fair and certainly not easy, but that was the job they signed up for. They agreed to save the hurting people through whatever difficulty and get them to the doctor.
To me, THAT is exactly what it means to be a Christian. We are supposed to go to those hurting, injured, and broken souls and love them. We are to let the light we carry within shine to guide them to the Healer we know personally. It wasn't through words of condemnation or threats of hell that changed my soul, that healed my broken spirit. It was instead the Love I felt pour into every crack in my heart, every wound that had been created, that led me to the Great Physician. As Christians, I feel that our emergency tool of healing and stabilization is simple and beautiful LOVE. Their pain calls out as loud as any siren. We find them, we love them, and then, well, we can let the Doctor do the rest."
AMEN! Let's lead others to the ultimate physician. Let's love our community. Let's be the body of Christ.
